Does leaving normal shampoo & cocanut oil in your hair with a shower cap over it smother head lice?

my daughter has head lice and i was wondering does this work?

never heard of it but i highly doubt it will work. when i was a kid i happen to get them not only once but three times. You have to take every precaution like washing bedding, change brushes, and use the lice shampoo made for killing head lice(RID) it comes with a small tooth comb to extracts the lice and eggs from the hair. and make sure you kid does not go to school so she can't spread them. maybe kids at her school could of exposed her to them if you are not sure how she got them. tell any kids or people that your kid plays with or comes in contact with to use the shampoo also. weather or not they think they have them or not just to be on the safe side. so there is no chance of spreading.Does leaving normal shampoo %26amp; cocanut oil in your hair with a shower cap over it smother head lice?
Headlice treatment. Ask the pharmacist about it, they'll no what to give you.





I wouldn't recommend using shampoo to kill lice. It makes the hair so squeaky clean, which means after you've washed it off the next day, lice can easily climb back in. In fact you shouldn't be washing your hair constantly if you have lice.
It's possible, but even if they are dead they will still be in the hair. Lice secrete a glue that sticks them to the hair shaft, so even if the lice are dead you'll nee d product that kills lice to dissolve that glue and get the lice out.
It probably would smother the head lice but not the eggs. So I would go get a proper treatment.
Use olive oil. And sleep with it on. I had lice last summer. Hope I helped.
