How do I get a plastic shampoo cap out of my bathtub drain pipes when even a drain snake can't reach it?

Don't try the vacuum cleaner...stupid answer.... most bottle caps are small enough to pas through the trap, if the water is draining , you can assume that it has, if not call a plumberHow do I get a plastic shampoo cap out of my bathtub drain pipes when even a drain snake can't reach it?

If it went in the pipe then it should go down all the way. I wouldn't worry unless the line is plugged. Usually if it gets past the trap, then it should go all the way. If it's in the trap and plugging it then you'll have to take the trap out and get it out.


It's pretty self explanatory, take the nuts off and loosen the pipe, drop the ';S'; try and empty it into a pail, take everything out that isn't suppose to be in there, and put it all back. Snug up all the lines again and that's it. Put something over the drain hole next time around.
go to a hardware store, there is a type of ';acid'; that you can use in plumbing. That stuff will dissolve the cap for sure.
you may try a vacuum cleaner.
get shop vac set up for wet use and flexibly hose (garden,car heater hose)more flex the better cut a piece about 4ft long put one in the hose coming from the shop vac and tape it tight now stick other end down the drain as fare as can then turn it on and slowly pull out
